Graeme Souness explains why one Tottenham player will ‘have the hump’ despite win
that he believes Son Heung-min will “have the hump” after failing to find the back of the net during Sunday’s 4-1 win over Crystal Palace on Sunday afternoon – instead, only managing to lay on an assist.
Son, 28, has been in sensational form for Tottenham this season – forming a near-impeccable partnership with Harry Kane and having a hand in 34 goals during his 39 league and cup appearances, in which has scored 18 and laid on 16 more.
On Sunday, both Harry Kane and Gareth Bale scored braces. Bale made it six goals in six, netting twice from a combined yardage of about 10 – while Kane swept a beautiful effort into the far corner, before Son unselfishly squared an Erik Lamela cross to Kane.
Souness reckons South Korea captain Son will not be happy at only managing to lay on an assist for Kane – though it kept his stats rolling over. But he also believes that kind of mentality is what you need at Spurs, if they are to reach the top four.
