With Hourihane earning £30,000-a-week , the midfielder is earning a fairly hefty wage at Villa compared to other players in the squad.

And a move to Sheffield appears to be the right move for all parties. Slavisa Jokanovic’s side have made a terrible start to the Championship season. The Steel City club have claimed just two points in their first five games.

Indeed, Hourihane will be a welcome addition for Sheffield. Yet for Villa fans on social media, they believe the news means that a new central midfielder could be signed before the window shuts.
