Journalist shares ‘good news for Spurs’ as Ange Postecoglou looks to land £60m midfielder
Tottenham are hoping to press on with their summer transfer business and there could be some good news for them when it comes to one key target.
Having already splashed out on Archie Gray and brought Timo Werner back to the club this summer, Tottenham are keen to do more business.
With some players leaving as well, there should be room to manoeuvre when it comes to the market.
For Ange Postecoglou, adding players in the final third who can make a real difference is seen as key and Spurs have already been linked with a number of players.
One top star being linked with Tottenham is England midfielder, Ebere Eze.
Eze is a man in-demand, with Arsenal also among the clubs chasing his signature this summer.
And speaking about the potential for a summer move, journalist Ben Jacobs has suggested there’s reason for Tottenham – and Arsenal – to be confident.
Tottenham get boost in bid to sign Ebere Eze
Speaking to about the potential for Eze to move to Tottenham, Jacobs suggested that the midfielder wants to remain in London, thus helping Spurs’ cause.
“Spurs have Eberechi Eze on their list of options, but any deal is complicated. Eze has a £60m release clause which, like Michael Olise’s one was, is not routine to trigger,” Jacobs said.
“Percentages of it go to Crystal Palace, QPR (Eze’s former club) and the player himself. I’m told Eze ideally wants to stay in London, which is good news for Spurs, and even Arsenal should they enter the race.”
Eze is believed to be open to a move away from Palace this summer as he looks to continue to cement his place within the England set up.
But after selling Michael Olise, the Eagles are in no rush to move Eze on and are said to be calm over what happens.
For Tottenham, knowing Eze wants to remain in London is a bonus. Whether they pay the huge fee to sign him or not, is another matter.
