Glenn Hoddle says £70m Arsenal striker target is tailor-made for the Premier League
Arsenal have been heavily linked with Napoli’s Victor Osimhen in recent months.
For instance, Italian journalist Ciro Venerato said in December that the Gunners have touched base over potentially signing Osimhen.
The 25-year-old is one of the most highly rated strikers in world football at present, so it’s no surprise that Arsenal are apparently looking at him.
Last season, he registered 31 goals, including 26 in Serie A that helped fire Napoli to their first Scudetto since 1990.
Although Osimhen hasn’t quite reached those same heights this term amid injuries, he’s on a respectable 13 goals for the campaign.
Crucially, the Nigeria international – who played at this year’s Africa Cup of Nations – looks back to his best and is working hard on the pitch.

Glenn Hoddle, speaking on ahead of Napoli’s Champions League last-16 second leg against Barcelona, picked up on this.
The England legend also said Osimhen is a “Premier League player” in style, suggesting he’d be a perfect fit for the English top flight.
“He’s a Premier League player, looking at him, the style of him as well,” Hoddle said on TNT Sports.
“But he’s got his hunger back, that’s the main thing. He wants to make movement.
“He was standing for a lot of the first half last leg I think now he’s back to his best.
“He’s got the hunger and the movement, he wants to score goals, and that’s the big difference in mindset.”
Arsenal will fancy their chances of signing Victor Osimhen – opinion
Arsenal are enjoying a wonderful season, sitting top of the Premier League and reaching the quarter-finals of the Champions League.
No matter what happens, no club can rest on their laurels. Making the most of the summer transfer window to bring in reinforcements is crucial.
Osimhen has been a revelation for Napoli since his reported move from Lille back in 2020.
He recently at Napoli with a reported £113million release clause and an alleged , but this hasn’t stopped speculation from doing the rounds.
Speaking to CBS Sports – as transcribed by – Osimhen said: “I have already made my decision on the next step to do at the end of the season.”
Let’s hope this involves a Premier League switch. If so, Arsenal will certainly fancy their chances of signing him, especially if they go all the way in the Premier League or Champions League.
