Mane to come of age?

Johnson, who recently announced his retirement from the game, reckons Sadio Mane can tip the balance in Liverpool’s favour, rather than Roberto Firmino or Mo Salah.

: “van Dijk will obviously be a massive player for them, but I personally think Mane.

“If he’s on top of his game, he’s such an explosive player he can pop in a goal from nowhere.

“As long as they are on the top of their game, Liverpool will be right in there.”

Mane has started to come into some good form against after a bit if a mid-season slump.

The Senegal flyer has hit three goals in his last three league games, taking his tally to 11 for the season.

There’s great pressure on last season’s talisman Salah to deliver at a crucial stage of the season, but Mane, often in the Egyptian’s shadow, could well be an unsung hero for the title-chasing Reds.
