Glen Johnson delivers title verdict that Liverpool fans will love
that Liverpool “are in the driving seat” for the Premier League title after beating Chelsea at Anfield to win 2-0.
They sit two points ahead of Manchester City, who kept the pressure on Jurgen Klopp’s men after beating Crystal Palace away from home 3-1. But City still have a game in hand.
Liverpool have four league games to play. They face Huddersfield Town and Wolverhampton Wanderers at home, while taking on Cardiff City and Newcastle United away.
Former Liverpool defender Johnson believes his old side are favourites to pip City to the league and claim their first title since 1989-90 – and their first ever Premier League title.

“They handled the pressure after Manchester City beat Palace,” “Now, I think they’re in the driving seat. That [Chelsea] was their toughest game. You would expect them to win their remaining fixtures.
“Obviously, football doesn’t work out like that. But if they can perform as they did against Chelsea, they will be very tough to stop.”
TBR’s view
Manchester City still have Tottenham to play in the league after their second-leg Champions League tie, as well as going to old Trafford to face Manchester United. They also play Burnley, Leicester City and Brighton.
Pep Guardiola’s side certainly have much harder fixtures. If Liverpool can win all four games then it certainly piles the pressure on Manchester City.
But if City can play to their best ability, you would expect them to beat Tottenham at home and indeed Man United away. Anything less than their best, and they may struggle.
