Glen Johnson claims West Ham are well-positioned for Premier League top-four finish
Former West Ham defender Glen Johnson has claimed that the east London side are in a great position to finish in the top four of the Premier League and that they should view themselves as favourites in their remaining games of the season.
, the ex-England international admitted that, with West Ham’s run-in, the Hammers are in a great position to finish in the top-four and qualify for the UEFA Champions League for the first time in their history, with the Irons just three points off Chelsea, who play Manchester City, Arsenal and Leicester City in their final five league games.

West Ham lost to the Blues this weekend in a 1-0 defeat at the London Stadium, yet speaking post-match, Johnson, who also played for Chelsea, is confident the Hammers can rebound from this recent loss and make a late charge in the final five Premier League matches.
Johnson said: “They’re sat in a very good place, to be honest. They’ve probably got the best run-in from now until the end of the season, and they can go into most of their games as favourites, and I think Chelsea will also drop some points. They’re right in the middle of the race, they’ll be rubbing their hands together.”

TBR View: West Ham easy run-in, but past results prove they’re not guaranteed top-four
The Hammers have been nothing short of remarkable this season. Nobody would have predicted just how high the east London side would be in the Premier League table at this stage of the campaign, and now that they’re here, they need to go full-throttle into finishing in the top-four.
Yet whilst their run-in is significantly easier than the likes of Chelsea, Liverpool and Tottenham, this is still West Ham United we’re talking about, and they still can throw points away from positions where a win looked almost certain, such as their 3-3 draw against Arsenal, where the Hammers were 3-0 up within the opening 35 minutes.

If the Hammers are to get top-four, they will need to take each game as it comes and have to focus on not creating problems for themselves when the pressure is cranking up.
