Gini Wijnaldum justifying the departure of Emre Can and international result highlights how
This summer Liverpool lost a key first-team player in Emre Can. The Germany international and the Anfield club simply could not see eye-to-eye on a new contract. The 24-year-old continued to give his all for Liverpool and, in the summer, completed a Bosman transfer to Italian champions Juventus.
Whilst not yet a regular starter for the Turin club, he must be enjoying his time in Turin. He has played 10 games for Juventus this season, the Bianconeri winning all 10 of them.
But he did suffer defeat last night, in a humiliating performance v the Netherlands.

The Dutch cruised to a 3-0 win last night, their biggest margin of victory ever between these two great foes.
It was also a game where Can was given the runaround in midfield by a current Liverpool midfielder. Gini Wijnaldum might be having his best ever season yet for the Reds. Last night was no different as the Liverpool player ran the Germany midfield ragged.
Given a more attacking role under Ronald Koeman’s stewardship, the 27-year-old even topped off his excellent performance with a late solo goal to sugar-coat the win.
Liverpool fans were fairly disappointed they lost Can. In not receiving a fee for the player, there’s no doubt he remains a disappointment. But Wijnaldum is at least showing that they do not need the German international with his displays so far this season.
Playing Emre Can in midfield is a sign of weakness.

Yah, and Low should have stood down, many of these players might be world champions, but their time is going, plus every time I see Emre Can getting game time, something dies inside me!

Said weeks ago that I’d love to see Wijnaldum get forward more. We know he can finish from his time at Newcastle. Great goal for the Dutch tonight.

I’ve never liked Wijnaldum before, but he’s been really good this season so far. Hopefully he can continue it
