‘Getting better’… Kevin Campbell says 24-year-old ‘settled’ Arsenal player could now explode

Kevin Campbell has given his verdict on Arsenal and Germany international midfielder Kai Havertz.

The former Arsenal striker was impressed by the display produced by Havertz in the Premier League this past weekend.

So, what has Kevin Campbell said about Arsenal midfielder Kai Havertz? Let’s take a look.

Kai Havertz backed to explode at Arsenal

Well, Kevin Campbell has been raving about Arsenal midfielder Kai Havertz on talkSPORT.

The former Arsenal striker believes that Havertz is now settled at the club and is going to get better.

The 24-year-old scored for Arsenal in their against Brighton and Hove Albion at the Emirates Stadium in the Premier League this past weekend.

Havertz, who joined Arsenal from London and Premier League rivals Chelsea in the summer of 2023, found the back of the net against Luton Town earlier this month as well. He is starting to make a difference.

Former Rangers striker Ally McCoist said on : “Kev, tell me about the form of Kai Havertz, a much talked about player.

“I think he’s a player I’ve got to say, I don’t think he’s a centre-forward but I think he can play anywhere across that three and I’ve got to say I’m genuinely pleased for him as his form looks like it’s certainly improved and he’s chipping it with some important goals.”

Campbell said: “Ally, I’m with you, I like him as a player, I really do.

“I think sometimes when teams pay £65m you expect him to pick the ball up and dribble past players, that’s not his game.

“He’s a continuity player who will get into positions and who can finish. It took him a little bit more time obviously than Declan Rice to settle, but now you see him settled.

“Now you see his confidence is a big higher, he’s scoring big, important goals, really important goals.

“And I just see him getting better throughout the season now, whereas before that Kai Havertz name really was trepidation for Arsenal fans. Now, they believe in him a lot more, they trust him a lot more now.”

Arsenal fans should be excited about Kai Havertz

In my view, Arsenal fans should start getting excited about Kai Havertz. I believe that he could become a big player for the Gunners in the coming weeks and months.

Not every player hits the ground running at their new club. Just because Declan Rice was an instant success at Arsenal following his move from West Ham United in the summer of 2023 does not mean that Havertz should have been too.

It can take players some time. It seems that Havertz has now come to grips with the way Mikel Arteta plays his football at Arsenal and is starting to gel.

The Germany international, who can also play as a forward and has even operated at left-back, looks very confident now and appears to have the support of his teammates.
