‘Gets me on the edge of my seat’: Sky pundit says Celtic have a truly superb talent on their hands

Celtic midfielder David Turnbull has made Andy Walker’s Scottish Premiership Team of the Year, the Sky Sports pundit saying he’s a top talent who “gets me on the edge of my seat”.

Even though the Bhoys have endured a dismal season, the 21-year-old has been one of the few players in green and white to emerge from the 2020-21 campaign with significant credit.

Turnbull has made 32 appearances in all competitions for Celtic this season – including 26 Premiership starts – and has registered eight goals and seven assists.

Walker, who had two spells at Parkhead in the 80s and 90s,  says former Motherwell man has something special about him and becoming more and more important for the Hoops.

“I have picked David Turnbull because he is someone who gets me on the edge of my seat,” Walker wrote on .

“I think there is something special about him and Celtic have got a real player on their hands.

“He is becoming more and more important to the way Celtic play and to have a goal-scoring threat from midfield is vital.

“He is a mainstay and one that will want to develop his game with Celtic and a new manager.”

Turnbull has been one of the very few positive aspects of a Celtic campaign that will go down in history for all the wrong reasons.

There’s no doubt the Hoops will rebuild and come back stronger, and Turnbull is the kind of player that the new manager should build his team around.
