George Edmundson picks four Rangers players he looks up to

Recent debutant George Edmundson has named four senior Rangers players that he looks up to, .

Edmundson made his full debut in the Premiership clash with Hamilton Academical on Sunday. And he has revealed that he looks up to Jermain Defoe, Steven Davis, Connor Goldson and Alfredo Morelos.

Rangers shot to the top of the league as Celtic lost 2-0 at Livingston before Steven Gerrard’s men won comfortably against Hamilton. Edmundson has had a couple of short cameos in the league but this was his first start.

After the match, Edmundson addressed the media and spoke about the various characters in the squad. He believes the four aforementioned players set the example for young players like himself to follow.

: “I’m sure you can see that character and we have got players like Jermain, Morelos, Connor, Steven Davis. They are all top players and they handle the pressure really well. It makes the other players thrive from it.

“They have been at the top for a long time now and as a young player it is good to learn from them and how they handle certain situations.”

TBR’s view

Edmundson can learn a lot from these senior players. In Defoe and Davis, he has two players who have carved out a career at the top of the game – both domestically and internationally. Their experience and wisdom will be invaluable for Edmundson.

The 22-year-old can also take inspiration from Goldson, who he currently competes with for centre-back starts. With these characters giving him guidance, Edmundson could be on his way to big things.
