Dwight Gayle’s form shows Newcastle what they are missing
Newcastle United are having problems in front of goal this season, but Dwight Gayle is thriving in the Championship with West Brom. The on-loan striker scored five goals in September and has been named as the player of the month. He has scored more than his parent club have all season.
Gayle joined West Brom as part of a swap deal that saw Salomon Rondon move on loan in the opposite direction. At the time, it was thought it was a good move by Newcastle, but the Venezuelan has struggled for fitness since arriving.
On the other hand, Gayle is on fire and has played a huge part in West Brom leading the Championship at this early stage.

There is an argument that the striker isn’t good enough for the Premier League, but it is still a bitter pill for Newcastle supporters to swallow.
Although he didn’t score many last season, he did play a key role as Newcastle climbed to 10th position. His work rate and movement created space for others to exploit.
The attacking woes of Newcastle need to be fixed and it is difficult to think that Gayle wouldn’t have been a good option to have. His form at West Brom certainly proves that.
