Gary Neville shares Erik ten Hag verdict if Man United appoint Dan Ashworth
Speaking on the , Neville admitted that he actually thinks the appointment of Ashworth would be good news for Ten Hag.
“I actually think it helps Erik ten Hag that Dan Ashworth is coming in. One is that he is not the sort that will make a knee jerk decision when he comes in, he is quite measured. I think he will see Ten Hag staying another year while he has a look at the club and builds everything underneath. That’s what he was like at England,” Neville .
Ashworth appointment could be huge
It’s been quite a while now since Manchester United were back on top but with Ratcliffe and INEOS coming in and big captures like Ashworth in the pipeline, things could be changing now.
United have everything in place really to be the top club in the world. They remain one of the biggest in terms of revenue and support base and the potential is massive.
With Ashworth in charge of a lot of the off-field items and in particular, bringing in the right players, there’s a real chance now that Man United climb back to the summit.
As Neville says, Ashworth is a methodical worker and that bodes well for Ten Hag. The pressure will be on the Dutchman to produce. But if he gets Ashworth on side and they work well together, he could be in it for the long haul.
