Gary Neville says what’s really shocked him about Tottenham vs Arsenal games recently
Tottenham v Arsenal remains one of the biggest derbies in English football and even Gary Neville has admitted he’s been surprised by it in recent times.
Like so many fixtures in the English calendar, Tottenham v Arsenal is one that fans often look out for first when the fixtures come out.
Recent times have seen the Gunners and Spurs battling it out for top four places and while Mikel Arteta has pushed Arsenal closer to the top two recently, it remains a grudge match.

Of course, there are other big games in the calendar as well.
Manchester United v Liverpool remains huge, Everton v Liverpool has its own story, while there’s still the Sheffield derby to come this season and other big games like Chelsea and West Ham.
However, speaking on about the biggest rivalries and games, Gary Neville admitted to being surprised by Arsenal v Spurs.

Gary Neville explains what surprises him about watching Tottenham v Arsenal
Speaking about a number of different issues and questions all Premier League related, Neville and Jamie Carragher were asked what they felt the biggest or most entertaining rivalries were.
And while Neville admitted the magnitude of Man United v Liverpool will always stand out, the more recent Spurs v Arsenal clashes have surprised him.
“That game (United v Liverpool), historically will always be the biggest game. That one (Arsenal v Tottenham), has been the best atmosphere and most intense since I’ve been a commentator at Sky.
“That game has surprised me enormously,” Neville admitted.
Arsenal v Tottenham has been entertaining
While United v Liverpool can stagnate at times due to how tense it is, Arsenal v Spurs often delivers.
Indeed, the last two fixtures alone have ended 2-2 and 3-2.
Over the years, we’ve been treated to the dramatic 4-4 at The Emirates, while Arsenal demolished Spurs 5-2 twice in a row back in 2012.
As Neville says, the last few years have seen these two teams really seem to go for it against each other and there was added spice just a few season back when one Spurs fan decided to kick Aaron Ramsdale.
This season, then, promises to be another exciting set of north London derbies.
