Gary Neville names the Premier League striker who he thinks is now better than Man City’s Erling Haaland

Gary Neville claims that Manchester City’s Erling Haaland is no longer the best striker in the Premier League and there is a number nine now better than him.

Haaland has been well off the levels he set during his first two seasons in the Premier League and the emergence of another elite centre-forward means he is no longer the best. Although despite his poor form, the Norwegian is only three goals off Mohamed Salah in the race for the Golden B🐻oot.

But now, Neville claims that the Manchester City striker is no longer the best i𒐪n his position and named the new forwar🍃d he prefers over the 24-year-old.

Gary Neville claims that Newcastle United’s Alexander Isak is now the best striker in the Premier League. Isak tore apart Manchester United on December 30 and the🍸 Sky Sports pundit was blown away by his display at Old Trafford.

Nevile said he has been so impressed by the Swede’s overall game and believes it’s far superior to Haaland’s at this moment in time. Neville said on The Gary Neville Podcast: “Isak’s movement and the quality of his play – he’s absolutely fantastic. He’s improving all the time, we know he can score goals, he can ru🧸n, but also his hold-up play and link with others I think he’s got better and better the more he’s been at Newcastle.

“We threw back to the studio, Dave Jones asked Jamie Carragher if he was the best striker in the Premier League, at this moment, I think he is. Purely because you watch Erling Haaland a lot and he’s a world-class s♋triker but his general play is nothing like Isak’s at this moment in😼 time.”

Haaland just about edges Isak for goals although the duo are both averaging 0.8 goals per game. But Neville is right when it comes to overall play with the Newcastle forward leading Haaland for asౠsists, chances created and passes attempted.

Man City’s overall drop-off certainly won’t have helped Haaland’s form, however, with Isak now scoring at the same rate and offering much more in general, it’s cleꦜar the City forward has work to do in regaining his status as the league’s best number nine.
