Gary Neville makes claim about Anfield atmosphere during Liverpool vs Man United clash
Gary Neville claimed today’s atmosphere at Anfield was the ‘worst’ he’d ever experienced during a Liverpool vs Manchester United game.
The former Man United man was covering the game on and commented on the atmosphere at Liverpool during the first half.
It was a frustrating opening 45 minutes for Liverpool on Sunday afternoon as they dominated for large periods but failed to create any clear-cut opportunities.
The Reds pressed United relentlessly during the opening period but lacked real quality in the final third.
And as the Anfield crowd grew frustrated in the first half, Gary Neville made a huge claim about the atmosphere.

Neville makes claim about Anfield atmosphere during Liverpool vs United
Speaking on Sky Sports, Neville labelled today’s atmosphere at Anfield the ‘worst’ he’s ever witnessed in this famous clash.
He said: “I have to say this is the worst atmosphere I’ve seen at Anfield in a Manchester United vs Liverpool game.
“It’s never been as quiet and that’s from five minutes in.”

Anfield usually boasts one of the best atmospheres in the Premier League. But there wasn’t a lot for the Liverpool faithful to cheer in the opening 45 minutes.
Despite the fact that Liverpool dominated the game, they struggled to create any clear-cut openings.
The frustration for Jurgen Klopp’s men continued early in the second half as United put in a resilient defensive performance.
Trent Alexander-Arnold rattled the woodwork just after the hour mark after moving into midfield before Rasmus Hojlund went close.
But Liverpool were underwhelming in the final third today and failed to break down a well-drilled United backline.
