Gary Mabbutt says there’s a youngster coming through who Tottenham hope is the next Harry Kane
Finding the next Harry Kane at Tottenham is never going to be easy but club legend Gary Mabbutt thinks he might exist in the current academy.
Kane left for Bayern Munich in the summer to bring an end to his goal-laden spell with Tottenham.
The England skipper has since rattled them in for Bayern, albeit it looks like they could end the season without a trophy, which is just typical for the forward.
Back at Tottenham, though, the focus is on who might end up replacing Kane eventually and according to former defender Mabbutt, teenage striker Mikey Moore might be the one.
Mabbutt was asked who is coming through the ranks right now catching the eye, and the Spurs legend insisted that Moore is one to be excited about.
“We have a lot of players out on loan at the moment, as most clubs do have. We have youngsters coming through, we have a young lad called Mikey Moore, a striker who we hope is going to be in the Harry Kane sort of mould. We have a fantastic academy and a lot of work is taking place,” Mabbutt

Big boots to fill for Mikey Moore
Mikey Moore is very much still a young boy at 16 but there has been a lot of excitement around him at Tottenham for some time now.
Clearly, the Spurs academy is producing the goods as a number of talents are knocking on the door of the first-team already. The likes of Dane Scarlett and Alfie Devine are examples of their success in recent years, while Will Lankshear is another who is impressing.
For young Moore, there is a lot to work on and a lot of hard work to go into achieving anything anywhere near Kane has.
However, for someone like Mabbutt to shower him with this sort of praise suggests Spurs feel they’re onto a good one here.
