Gary Lineker and Micah Richards rave about Euro 2024 star Arsenal are going to bid for

Mikel Arteta will have a keen eye on potential transfer targets at Euro 2024 with Arsenal gearing up for yet another busy summer transfer window.

It’s been a fairly quiet start to the summer for Arsenal as Mikel Arteta is yet to bolster his squad.

The Gunners have missed out on the signing of RB Leipzig striker Benjamin Sesko, leaving them searching for alternative options up front.

Arteta is also keen to strengthen in defence, with Arsenal currently lacking suitable cover for centre-back duo William Saliba and Gabriel Magalhaes.

With plenty of current Arsenal targets currently at Euro 2024, one has caught the eye of both Gary Lineker and Micah Richards.

Lineker and Richards amazed by Arsenal target at Euro 2024

One player who impressed in the opening round of fixtures in Germany was Marc Guehi.

The Crystal Palace star has replaced the injured Harry Maguire in England’s backline and certainly didn’t look out of place in a 1-0 win over Serbia.

Arsenal are reportedly preparing a bid for Guehi as interest grows in the Chelsea academy product.

And when asked about players who have stepped up so far at the Euros, Richards was keen to highlight Guehi while speaking on .

“I’m going to go Marc Guehi,” the former Manchester City man said.

“Great shout,” Lineker agreed.

Richards went on: “Because Crystal Palace obviously just came onto the scene where could he handle the pressure of playing for England? He’s upped his game.”

“Especially after being out for quite a long time after injury,” Lineker added. “I loved his interview post-match. He was so humble.”

Where Guehi would fit in at Arsenal

Guehi would undoubtedly improve Arsenal’s depth at centre-back and would provide quality cover for both Saliba and Gabriel.

But with Arteta aiming to bolster other areas, it feels unlikely that Arsenal will be willing to part with for a centre-back this summer.

Kiwior is naturally a left-sided centre-back while White can also play centrally, despite his excellent form as a right-back.

It would feel like an unnecessary move for the Gunners at this moment in time, particularly as they have more pressing concerns in terms of their attacking depth.
