Gary Lineker aims jibe at Erik ten Hag as Manchester United lose to Bournemouth
Gary Lineker has poked fun at Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag as the Red Devils fell to a heavy defeat to Bournemouth on Saturday.
Man United were beaten 3-0 by the Cherries at Old Trafford. Indeed, it could’ve been 4-0, but Dango Ouattara’s late effort was ruled out for handball.
The Red Devils went into the game on the back of a 2-1 victory over Chelsea in midweek, and Ten Hag was hoping to build on that positive result.

However, Man United were put to the sword by the Cherries at Old Trafford. Dominic Solanke opened the scoring after just five minutes, and they never looked back.
Philip Billing doubled the visitors’ lead in the 68th minute, before Marcos Senesi added a third just a few minutes later.
Ten Hag had won the Premier League Manager of the Month award in November, but now he has fallen to a second top-flight defeat in three games.
Lineker took to to rhetorically ask whether anyone has “ever won manager of the month and lost their job in the same weekend”.
Difficult games ahead for Manchester United
Man United will certainly have to go back to the drawing board after such a heavy defeat.
It’s unlikely that Ten Hag will be under immediate pressure. After all, the Red Devils have been able to get some good results this season and are still not far from the Champions League places.
However, Man United fans will not want to see this sort of display and result again. And things don’t get any easier fixture-wise, with some difficult games ahead for the Red Devils.
Man United host Bayern Munich in the Champions League next Tuesday before heading to Liverpool in the Premier League on the Sunday.
The Red Devils then head to West Ham on Saturday 23 December before hosting Aston Villa on Boxing Day and wrapping up the year with a trip to Nottingham Forest on Saturday 30 December.
