Gary Kelly and Tony Dorigo have message for Leeds fans, Andrea Radrizzani responds
Leeds United’s dismal run of form continued on Saturday afternoon as The Whites suffered a 1-0 defeat at Elland Road to lowly Wigan Athletic – prompting Leeds heroes Gary Kelly and Tony Dorigo to calm the club’s fanbase down on Twitter.
It was a similar story for Leeds. Dominating possession, territory and chances, Marcelo Bielsa’s side could not put the ball in the back of the net. Patrick Bamford missed a number of chances, while Jack Harrison hit the post in the first half.
Bielsa chose not to include new marquee signing Jean-Kevin Augustin and such a decision has been heavily criticised by Leeds fans, as Pablo Hernandez’s own goal just before the hour mark saw Leeds suffer a 1-0 defeat.
The defeat was a horrible reminder of last season’s 2-1 defeat to Wigan for Leeds fans, in a match that almost succumbed Leeds to the play-offs. Supporters are frustrated, given it is now two wins in nine – and both Dorigo and Kelly have a message for fans.

For fans. We’ve all had our say, what’s certain is the boys care immensely & will be hurting. Let’s put our dummies back in our mouths, dust ourselves off ready to go again. We’re 2nd & calm is required. I’ll be roaring the boys on at the City Ground – who’s coming? 💪🏻

The Whites came into the match on top of the Championship after a 3-2 win over Millwall, but Leeds have now slipped to second with West Brom winning – and are just three points ahead of third place.
Leeds owner Andrea Radrizzani has had to deal with a lot of criticism despite funding moves for both Ian Poveda and Augustin – and he reacted to Dorigo’s comment with a GIF, seemingly applauding the former Leeds and England defender.
