Garth Crooks suggests Gini Wijnaldum is integral to Liverpool fortunes
pundit Garth Crooks has heaped praise on Liverpool midfielder Gini Wijnaldum for his performance in Sunday’s 2-0 win over Sheffield United.
He named the maestro in his Team of the Week after he helped the champions end a run of four successive defeats in the Premier League.
Wijnaldum has been one of few Liverpool players to avoid breaking down with an injury this season and he’s relishing the regular football.
The Dutch midfielder has been virtually ever-present in Jurgen Klopp’s team, starting 24 of the club’s 26 Premier League games.

Crooks was delighted with his performance at the weekend and raved about him in his Team of the Week.
“Wijnaldum once again seemed to keep it together for Liverpool in the absence of Jordan Henderson.
“Should anything happen to Wijnaldum between now and the end of the season, bearing in mind their injury list, I think Liverpool would implode.”
TBR View: Liverpool should tie down Wijnaldum
The midfielder is out of contract during the summer and on current form, Liverpool would be foolish to allow him to leave Anfield.
Although he is 30-years-old he is showcasing just how competent he is in the middle of the park.
Liverpool would be even further off the pace without Wijnaldum’s drive in their midfield this season and that won’t have gone unnoticed by Klopp.
The star deserves another deal and he will take some serious replacing if he does leave in the summer.

Wijnaldum has proved himself as a solid player since joining the Reds in 2016 from Newcastle.
He has played 222 times for the Reds, scoring 22 goals and registering 16 assists.
This season he has played as well as anyone in the Liverpool team and Klopp must do whatever it takes to keep him at the club.
