Garner and Johnson react after Djed Spence makes Tottenham debut
Brennan Johnson and James Garner showed their support for Djed Spence after the defender made his Tottenham Hotspur debut against Nottingham Forest on Sunday.
Spence has taken a little time to get going following his move. The wing-back was not even in the squad for the games against Chelsea and Wolves.

But he did get a chance at the weekend – and in familiar surroundings also.
Tottenham beat Forest 2-0 at the City Ground to maintain their unbeaten start to the campaign. Harry Kane scored in either half to see off Steve Cooper’s spirited side.

Richarlison shone after coming off the bench. But it was also a notable occasion for Spence as he came on as stoppage-time loomed.
The 22-year-old received a great reception from all sides of the ground as he was brought on. Of course, the youngster spent last season on loan with Forest. And he played a key role in the club gaining promotion to the Premier League.
Spence actually had the chance to add a third goal before fluffing his lines in front of Dean Henderson.
Spence has now taken to Instagram to comment on making his debut. And amongst those to quickly reply was Johnson, who, of course, lined up against him in the game.
Meanwhile, there was the same message from reported Tottenham target Garner, who was also on loan with Forest last season…

Johnson and Garner support for Spence after Tottenham debut
It will be a boost for Tottenham if Spence can now kick on. Emerson Royal has done a decent job in that position in the early stages of this season.
However, Emerson is limited in the final third. He can be incredibly frustrating when he gets up the other end of the pitch.
Spence did not score when the chance came. But he provided a glimpse of what he can offer when he came off the bench. And with Spurs battling on several fronts, Spence will definitely get plenty of further opportunities to show what he can do.
