Gareth Southgate says England coaches are monitoring 20-year-old Newcastle gem
Gareth Southgate has revealed that Newcastle United defender Tino Livramento is being looked at by the England coaches.
The Three Lions boss named the Magpies star as one of three players who the national setup is looking at with a view to potential call-ups.
Southgate, speaking to , said: “Without doubt we are watching him (Rico Lewis), plus the likes of Cole Palmer and Tino Livramento in particular.”

This is great news for the Newcastle talent, who has been superb since making the move to St James’ Park this summer.
Magpies boss Eddie Howe has allowed Livramento to find his feet following his switch from Southampton.
Prior to the Carabao Cup win over Manchester City, the Newcastle summer signing had made just two Premier League outings off the bench, for a total of 24 minutes.
Newcastle have signed ‘tremendous’ talent in Livramento
Since then, however, Livramento has been featuring more and more, and he has done very well each time he has been called upon.
Livramento was especially superb against Man City and Man United in the Carabao Cup, helping Newcastle triumph in both encounters.
He also did well when coming off the bench against Arsenal in the Premier League.
Livramento did a great job of keeping the Arsenal forward at bay and helping Newcastle end the Gunners’ unbeaten league run.
Even in games where the Magpies haven’t done too well – against Borussia Dortmund this week, for instance – he was still arguably the best outfield player.
The rated him 9 out of 10, saying he delivered a ‘tremendous all-round performance’.
It’ll be exciting to see how Livramento continues to fare at Newcastle. Hopefully it won’t be long before he gets an England debut as well.
