Gareth Bale posts three-word Twitter verdict on moment from Tottenham star
Wales earned an excellent 1-0 win over the Czech Republic in 2022 World Cup qualifying on Tuesday night as both sides finished the match with just 10 men – and Gareth Bale has posted a three-word Tweet on Tottenham star Joe Rodon’s moment of magic.
Manchester United winger Daniel James scored the only goal of the game inside the last 10 minutes, after Czech striker Patrik Schick had been shown a straight red card on 49 minutes – before Connor Roberts received a second yellow on 77 minutes.
Schick seemed to attack Roberts in the face during a set-piece, before Roberts went after receiving another yellow for an aerial challenge in which he leaned with the arm. But it was Wales the won the match, with Bale’s magic cross proving the difference.
Bale crossed from the left flank and it was so pinpoint that it found the pocket-sized James to place an inch-perfect header into the far corner from eight yards out. Wales held on, but they rode their luck and Rodon produced a moment of magic.
In the 92nd minute, a well-worked Czech move saw the ball drop to Ondrej Celustka eight yards out – but a flying block from Tottenham’s £10,000-a-week () defender was enough to loop the ball over the bar. Bale was full of praise on Twitter.
Class from Joe! ⛔️
