Alasdair Gold shares whether Cristian Romero could feature for Spurs tomorrow

Spurs are preparing for their final pre-season encounter of the summer, a North London derby friendly.

Both Spurs and the Gunners have been busy bolstering their ranks this summer.

Indeed, Tottenham have received a major boost with the arrival of Cristian Romero from Atalanta.

As the Serie A defender of the year, the Argentine should transform Spurs’ defence.

Romero also won the Copa America with Argentina this summer, his nation not conceding when he was on the pitch.

However, the Arsenal game might come too soon for him, according to football.london’s Alasdair Gold.

“With Romero, I understand he’s had one of the single-dose jabs available in Europe which means he does not have to isolate,” he .

“That’s great news for him and Spurs.

“He returned to training at Atalanta last weekend so the Arsenal game may come too soon but it gives him a great chance of being involved in some capacity against Manchester City on August 15.

“He could be at the Arsenal game though and perhaps he’ll get the old fashioned on-pitch welcome in front of the fans before the game or at half-time.”

Sessegnon “has been working outside” in Spurs training

Meanwhile, Ryan Sessegnon is looking to make his mark at Spurs this season.

Last term, he enjoyed a successful loan campaign in the Bundesliga at Hoffenheim.

However, he’s reportedly nursing a hamstring knock and remains a doubt against Manchester City next week.

Therefore, Sessegnon is also unlikely to feature this weekend, according to Gold.

“Sessegnon was set to be touch and go to be fit for the City match with his minor hamstring injury,” he said.

“He’s been working outside but again Arsenal may come too soon.”
