Galatasaray are targeting ‘world-class’ Liverpool player who is yet to feature at all under Arne Slot

Liverpool are set to be busy in the transfer window in August after waiting patiently in the wings in the months that have gone by.

The Reds are the only Premier League side yet to sign✅ a player this summer, but tha𒀰t could be set to change in the coming weeks.

Liverpool remain locked i🐻n talks to sign Martin Zubimendi, but with Real ﷺSociedad looking to tempt the midfielder into staying by rewarding him with a ne🉐w contract, it remains to be seen if they succeed in their efforts.

A handful of players could also be on the move in the coming weeks as Arne Slot looks to fine-tune his squad. Sepp van den Berg is 🌜wanted by six Bundes♊liga clubs before the transfer deadline but potential suitors have𒐪 thus far been unwilling to meet Liverpool’s £25m valuation.

Joe Gomez is attracting interest from Aston Villa and if reports are to be believed, another Liverpool defender is 🔴being lin🦩ked with a potential transfer.

Kostas Tsimikas predominantly deputized for the Scottish left-back in Liverpool’s victories against Real Betis, Arsenal and Man⛦chester United but Robertson has now returned to training, serving as a welcome boost to their preparations ahead of the new season.

The report states that Galatasaray have ‘accelerated’ their transfer plans and are willing to make a ‘splash’ before deadline day, with Robertson emerging on their radar. Although Liverpool are yet to put a price tag on Robertson, the report speculates that he could be valued at aꦏround £25m.

What next for Andy Robertson at Liverpool?

Robertson, who via Premier League produ🐻ctions, has been a reliable player for Liverpool since signing for the club under Jurgen Klopp in 2017.

The industrious Scot has made 297 appearances in all competitions for the club so far since joining from Hull City, winning seven major honours at Anfield. Last season, the defender missed nearly three months with a shoulder 🍬injury as the likes of Tsimikas and Gomez filled in for him at left-back.

The 30-year-old’s contract expires in the summer of 2026 and it remains to be seen what Liverpool do if Galatasaray press ahead with their interest.

The Reds have always been wary of offering long-term deals✨ to players on the wrong end of 30, indicating that Robertson could wel🥃l be approaching the end of his Liverpool career.

However, with the new season set to commence less than a week from now and Robertson having not featured at all under Slot,ꦦ the Dutchman is likely to evaluate him on the pitch before making a transfer decision.
