Arsenal’s Gabriel Martinelli snubs Declan Rice and names Rodri in his fantasy XI

Manchester City‘s Rodri and Arsenal’s Declan Rice are the two best defensive midfielders in the Premier League right now, there’s no debate there.

The duo are levels above everyone else in their position, and that’s why they are so integral to the way their respective sides play.

that Rice is the best defensive midfielder in the world and is even better than Rodri. Arsenal fans will all definitely agree with that assessment.

However, it looks like Gabriel Martinelli prefers the Manchester City man over his Arsenal teammate in his fantasy Champions League XI.

On , the Brazilian named Rodri in the base of his midfield alongside Jude Bellingham and Martin Odegaard. Rice, sadly, does not get in.

Martinelli also claimed that he feels a sense of ‘bravery’ every time he watches Rodri play.

Declan Rice has been unbelievable for Arsenal

Arsenal have dominated the midfield in almost every game they have played this season, and Declan Rice is the biggest reason why.

The Englishman is a complete midfielder. He is excellent on the ball, can pick a pass, drive forward and also has the ability to score goals. Off the ball, he is almost impossible to get past. He is very strong defensively and he reads the game and anticipates danger better than most others.

Rice is just on another level compared to almost everyone else in the Premier League, and he deserves every bit of praise he’s getting. The fact that he is just 24 means he will get even better in the coming years.

Arsenal are pushing to win the Premier League title this season, and they have every chance of going all the way with Rice in their side.
