Richarlison meanwhile, made the step up to Spurs after a difficult year with Everton. The 25-year-old was a key reason the Toffees managed to keep themselves in the top-flight.

Of course, it will be fascinating to see which player fares better. But when asked about which player would score more goals, Jesus insisted that he wants Richarlison to be a success for Tottenham.

“I hope come the end of the season we are both fighting for the Golden Boot because I like him. He’s a very good guy and an amazing player so I wish him all the best but not against us,” he told the media, .

Plenty on the line with Richarlison and Jesus set for battle

You would imagine that Jesus is likely to score more goals for Arsenal. That is because he is surely going to start a lot more games as a striker than Richarlison will at Spurs.

Richarlison has arrived to provide cover and competition for Harry Kane. But he is also capable of playing in a number of roles in Antonio Conte’s side.

But both have got one massive reason to impress in the coming months. They will surely have their sights set on securing a key role in Tite’s Brazil squad for the World Cup.

Interestingly, they were both also linked with the North London rival they did not join. Reports claimed that Tottenham wanted Jesus, while Arsenal had their eye on Richarlison.

So it will be fascinating to see who proves to be the better signing.
