Gabriel Jesus gives ‘green light’ to leave Arsenal and join surprise club even though he’s still injured
Gabriel Jesus’ future at Arsenal is up in the air.
The Brazil international has had a really difficult time at the Emirates. He looked unstoppable early in his debut season, but since then, injuries have troubled him.
Jesus is currently recovering from the knee surgery he underwent in January after he damaged his ACL in a game against Manchester United.
The striker is not expected to return to action anytime soon, but that hasn’t stopped clubs from showing interest in his services.
Gabriel Jesus gives the ‘green light’ to join Flamengo from Arsenal
Gabriel Jesus’ situation at Arsenal is a difficult one.
The Brazil international dropped below Kai Havertz in the pecking order a season-and-a-half ago, and he will further go down now following the arrival of Viktor Gyokeres.
Even if he returns from his injury at his best level, it is unlikely that he will start at Arsenal, which is why the Gunners want to part ways with him.
Reports claimed on Friday that in this window, and the player now seems open to that idea.
in Brazil have claimed that Jesus has given the ‘green light’ to join Flamengo this summer, and the club are now preparing an offer to submit to Arsenal.
Flamengo are working on a season-long loan bid for the Arsenal number nine, with an option to make that move permanent in the summer of 2026.
Super-agent Giuliano Bertolucci, who represents Arsenal star Gabriel Magalhaes, is working on the terms of the deal, which would see both clubs pay half of the player’s salary each.
Despite his serious injury, Jesus has an eye on the 2026 World Cup, and that is the reason why he is open to a surprise return to Brazil at the age of 28 instead of choosing to stay in Europe.

Should Arsenal loan out Gabriel Jesus?
Jesus is Arsenal’s second-highest-paid player.
The former Manchester City man pockets £265,000-a-week at the Emirates, and he has been doing so without playing a minute of football since mid-January.
Keeping hold of him makes little sense for Arsenal, and people at the club were disappointed that they may not be able to sell Jesus because of his injury.
That is why a loan deal, if Flamengo are serious about it, is perfect for Arsenal, who will not just save some money on wages but could also see his stock go up in Brazil.
If that happens, they will be able to sell him for a decent fee next year.
