Gabriel Agbonlahor urges Tottenham to sign ‘special’ James Maddison alternative

Gabriel Agbonlahor has urged Tottenham Hotspur to sign a Premier League star to provide cover for James Maddison.

It’s fair to say that James Maddison hasn’t been at his best siജnce return🗹ing from an ankle injury back in January.

The Englishman enjoyed an exceptional st𒆙art to life at Spurs following his switch from Leicester City last summer.

Maddison was arguably ‘ꦬthe best player in the league’ during the first 10 games of the season, w🌳ith Tottenham🍰 sitting top and unbeaten in early November.

But since his return from injury, he’s completed the full 90 minutes just once in the Premier League

Most recently, Dejan Kulusevski💯 replaced the Englishman in the 70th minute in the 1-1 draw at 🐓West Ham.

The Swede didn’t have the desired impact and Gabriel Agbonlahor has urged Tottenham to sign Morgan Gibbs-White to cover for Maddison.

Agbonlahor urges Tottenham to sign Gibbs-White

Speaking on , A🎶gbonlahor was asked if the Nottingham Forest midfielder could play for a top four side.

“100 per cent. I see a team that suit him, Spurs,” the former Villa striker said. “You look at [James] Maddison being brought off in a few games recently and they’re bringi♎ng on [Giovani] Lo Celso who’s decent, imagine ha⭕ving that power next season.

“Champions League football, and you’re bringing on Gibbs-White and you’re rotating him in that position. I think he offers everything,👍 first touch, can score a goal, can pick a pass out, he’s got that flair.

“Like we said earlier, that assist in the previous game against [Crystal] Palace to Chris Wood, the defenders didn’t even see that pass. Just a little dink onto Chris Wooᩚᩚᩚᩚᩚᩚ⁤⁤⁤⁤ᩚ⁤⁤⁤⁤ᩚ⁤⁤⁤⁤ᩚ𒀱ᩚᩚᩚd’s head, a straight pass as well.

“I think he’s got it all and Nottingham Forest might be in a position at the end of the 🙈season where they have to sell someone like Gibbs-White.”

Tottenham keen on Gibbs-White

Gibbs-White h♏as already been linked with a move to Tottenham ahead of th♔e summer.

It’s been claimed that Forest🎉 could be forced to sell the midfielder before June due to Profit and Sustainability Rules.

The 24-year-old h🌠as starred for Forest over the past couple of seasons following his switch f𒈔rom Wolves.

This term, Gibbs-White has netted four times and provided se꧃ven assists in 30 league appearaꦺnces.

With Postecoglou aiming to re-shape his midfield, a move for the ‘special‘ Gibbs-White could make plenty of s🌼ense for Spurs.

It would give the Aussie boss a capable back-up option to Madd💯ison, while the Forest man is also capable of playing alongside Spurs’ star man in midfield.
