Gabriel Agbonlahor tells Arsenal and Tottenham to move for £40m striker
Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur have been fairly quiet in the transfer window thus far, with just one senior signing between the two.
The Gunners are yet to get a new senior signing over the line, though they have recruited England youth goalkeeper Tommy Setford for their academy.
Meanwhile the Lilywhites have brought Archie Gray to N17 from Leeds, while Lucas Bergvall has finally arrived from Djurgardens.
Arsenal and Tottenham are likely to be busy on the transfer front as they look to build on seasons in which they both just fell short of their goals.
The Gunners took the Premier League title race to the final day of the season but once again missed out as Manchester City made it four in a row.
Meanwhile, Spurs had to settle for fifth place and a place in the Europa league after being in the top four for much of the campaign.
Both Arsenal and Tottenham have been linked with a number of attacking reinforcements, including one of the Premier League’s most exciting forwards.
Now, talkSPORT pundit Gabriel Agbonlahor has urged both north London clubs to make a move for said player.

Gabriel Agbonlahor tells Arsenal and Tottenham to move for Ivan Toney
The player in question is Brentford’s Ivan Toney, who has been heavily linked with a move across London this summer.
It was recently reported that the Bees may look to slash their asking price to less than £50million due to a lack of interest in Toney, down from £80million-plus.
Meanwhile, talkSPORT pundit Tony Cascarino recently predicted that the England international could be available for as little as £40million plus add-ons.
Agbonlahor, speaking on talkSPORT (23/7/24, 4:15pm), made it clear that he would move for him were he at either Arsenal or Tottenham
“Ivan Toney – who is going to snap him up? If I am Spurs, I am getting him. If I am Arsenal, I am getting him,” he said.
“I think he would choose Arsenal over Spurs. But if I am these two clubs, I’d go and get him. I rate him highly.”
Toney a clinical option for Arsenal or Tottenham
Toney has proven himself in the Premier League and also did well at Euro 2024 for England in the limited game time he received under Gareth Southgate.
Last year, Jamie Carragher told that Toney is “one of the best attacking players in the league”, while Thomas Frank deemed him “the best penalty taker in the world”.
With that in mind, it remains to be seen whether Arsenal or Tottenham decide to intensify their interest in Toney and bring in a much-needed focal point in attack to convert chances.
