Gabriel Agbonlahor says Tottenham have an ‘outstanding’ talent that makes them more exciting than Arsenal
Tottenham Hotspur have a big season ahead of them as Ange Postecoglou looks to build on his side’s fifth-placed finish last term.
Likewise, Arsenal will be hoping for glory next season after also falling just short of their ultimate goal in 2023/24.
Tottenham were much improved last season and were even dark horses for the Premier League title at one point, but had to settle for fifth place in the end.
Meanwhile, the Gunners were in the title picture until the final matchday, but Manchester City triumphed once again.
Nevertheless, both clubs have solid foundations upon which to build, and their respective expectations for the 2024/25 campaign are high.
With the start of the season now very much on the horizon, pundits have been discussing various teams in the build-up to the campaign.
TalkSPORT’s Gabriel Agbonlahor has criticised Arsenal’s style of play – as well as that of Manchester City – while praising that of Tottenham.
Agbonlahor also singled out one Spurs player for praise, saying he is emblematic of the exciting style of play Postecoglou has instilled in his team.
Gabriel Agbonlahor hails Tottenham ace Destiny Udogie
The player in question is Destiny Udogie, who hit the ground running last season and was thoroughly impressive for Tottenham.
Agbonlahor spoke of how Arsenal and Manchester City have made football predictable with their style of play.
On the subject of Tottenham and Udogie, he said: “Look at Spurs. Udogie.
“Last season I am watching him, mate, and I am like, ‘Why are you at right-wing? You are a left-back, mate.’ He was everywhere. Outstanding. He was everywhere.”
Udogie not yet ready to return to action
Udogie has sadly been out with a hamstring injury and Postecoglou revealed that he’s not quite ready to return to action.
Speaking to the on Friday, Postecoglou said: “Out of the travelling party I think it’s still Richy and Destiny who are not quite ready to play. But everyone else is fit and well.”
Tottenham are in friendly action against Vissel Kobe in Tokyo at 11am BST.
Meanwhile, Arsenal’s next game is a friendly against Manchester United in California at 1am BST.
