Gabriel Agbonlahor predicts Manchester United’s next manager if Erik Ten Hag is sacked
Manchester United suffered their third Premier League defeat of the season already with a 3-0 loss at home to Tottenham.
Erik Ten Hag’s position with the Red Devils is now under even more pressure after a weak start to the season that has seen United lose to Liverpool and Brighton & Hove Albion, as well as draw at Old Trafford to FC Twente in the UEFA Europa League.
With TBR Football exclusively reporting that the United board are growing increasingly concerned by Ten Hag with three candidates already lined up as potential replacements for the Dutch coach, it could soon become a matter of ‘when’ the former Ajax manager is sacked rather than ‘if’.
And pundit Gabriel Agbonlahor has now predicted who he thinks will become United’s next manager if Ten Hag is given the sack.

Ruud van Nistelrooy tipped to become next Manchester United manager
Speaking on , the pundit suggested that Ruud van Nistelrooy would be the ideal choice to replace Ten Hag as United manager, with the Old Trafford legend returning to the club this summer to join the first-team coaching staff.
Having already succeeded as a manager in his own right with PSV Eindhoven, Van Nistelrooy taking the reigns would be a logical decision given that the former striker is already at the club, with the Dutchman also a favourite in the red half of Manchester.
Agbonlahor said: “I would give it to Ruud van Nistelrooy. The reason why is that when you watch Manchester United and even after the games and during games, you just see Manchester United players feeding off Van Nistelrooy more than they are off Ten Hag.
“I remember seeing a clip after the game and Ten Hag walks straight in and you got Van Nistelrooy high-fiving the players, hugging the players. I just think that he was a manager as well two years ago at PSV.”

Van Nistelrooy is the obvious choice to replace Ten Hag
Although United have been linked with more established managers in recent weeks as the pressure continues to grow surrounding Ten Hag, Van Nistelrooy seems to be the obvious pick for United when looking for a successor.
Indeed, Van Nistelrooy returning to Old Trafford this summer as part of the coaching team always felt like a plot that would allow United to appoint the former Dutch marksman as Ten Hag’s replacement should things continue to go south for the 54-year-old manager.
And with the pressure once again cranked up to 11 for Ten Hag, it wouldn’t come as a surprise to many if the former Ajax manager was sacked to allow Van Nistelrooy to take over, who could be a good fit for the Red Devils in the short-term.
