Gabby Agbonlahor tips John Terry to make Aston Villa return after Smith sacking

Former Aston Villa striker, Gabby Agbonlahor, has been giving his reaction to the sacking of Dean Smith and has told Talksport that he believes John Terry would be open to coming back.

Terry left Villa in the summer after spending three years working with Smith at Villa Park. In that time, Terry helped the Villans to the Premier League, before further helping them consolidate their position in the top-flight.

But he moved on in the summer after deciding to take a break from the game before deciding his next move. However, speaking to today, former Villa striker Agbonlahor believes Terry would welcome a move back to the Midlands.

“I actually think he’d come back. He wanted some time with his family and wanted to travel. But I feel like now, if Aston Villa wanted him back as a coach, I think he’d come back,” Agbonlahor .

“Come on JT. Get yourself back in there. Holiday’s over.”

Whether Terry would like to go back into coaching just yet, or even come in as manager, remains to be seen. But there definitely has to be some correlation in Terry leaving the club, and Villa’s defensive decline.

TBR’s View: Aston Villa job surely too big for John Terry as of now?

Terry will be a manager in the future. But surely for now, this Villa job needs someone with a bit more experience in the dugout?

Villa are in serious danger of being sucked into a relegation battle. And with that, it means they need a coach well-versed in simply getting the job done.

Of course, Villa fans would probably warm to Terry. But it would be a risky appointment and one that might not be given time, especially if the struggle continued.

Agbonlahor, though, certainly seemed to want the former Chelsea man to make himself known!!
