Gabby Agbonlahor says John McGinn would ‘walk into’ Manchester United midfield

Manchester United struggled once again at the weekend as Everton became the latest team to take points from Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s men, and Talksport’s Gabby Agbonlahor feels the midfield is an issue.

The Red Devils went with Scott McTominay and Fred in the middle of the park and it’s a pairing that has been under the microscope more than once.

And speaking on feels that current Villa midfield talent, John McGinn, would easily get into the Manchester United team.

“I say it everytime I see him play but when Fred gets on the ball, it’s just sloppy passes and he’ll give it away. Even when he’s in there to win the ball he doesn’t do that. I just don’t see why he’s in that team,” he .

“There’s a lot of central midfielders who would walk into that Manchester United team. John McGinn, walks into that midfield.”

Coincidentally, McGinn was with United back in the summer.

TBR’s View: McGinn is class and this is nice nod to his ability

Villa have been good for John McGinn and McGinn has been good for Villa.

They go together well, and over the years the Scot has proven himself as a fine Premier League midfielder. On his day, he’s right up there.

It’s been noted before, too. Micah Richards once said McGinn had a bit of everything as well.

“He was a bit in the shadow of Jack Grealish and he’s not as technically great, but he gives so much to that team, energy, he runs in behind, he tackles and he’s got everything, he really has,” Richards .

There’d be no doubt in Villa fans’ minds, then, that McGinn could indeed step into Old Trafford and do better than Fred.
