Gabby Agbonlahor reacts to Andrea Radrizzani’s aim of top six for Leeds United

Andrea Radrizzani has told that he hopes to make Leeds United a top-six side again in the Premier League after returning them to the top-flight last season – but Gabby Agbonlahor has reacted on Twitter.

Leeds have certainly caught the eye this season. Their style under Marcelo Bielsa has seen them become the second team of many, scoring plenty of goals but conceding lots too – though some have also criticised their lack of defensive shape.

But the Whites sit in a comfortable 12th place in the Premier League, a huge 11 points above the relegation zone. They have made a good start in their return to the Premier League – while fellow promoted sides West Brom and Fulham are struggling.

Leeds president and owner Radrizzani has spoken to after a £50million investment from American Football side San Francisco 49ers – claiming he wants Leeds to eventually be competing in the top-six of the Premier League.

“If we are able to stay in the Premier League for two to three years, then this club can have the concrete ambition to position [itself] just next to the top six. On and off the pitch we want to be an outsider, a challenger,” Radrizzani said.

It certainly is a big claim from Radrizzani, who has seen Leeds fail in the play-offs before promotion and concede six goals to Manchester United – as well as the embarrassment of losing 3-0 to Crawley Town.

Indeed, Agbonlahor has been one of the club’s biggest critics – despite his beloved Aston Villa finishing in a lowly 17th and escaping relegation by the skin of their teeth. He responded to Radrizzani’s comments with a GIF.
