Gabby Agbonlahor reacts on Instagram as Conor Hourihane leaves Villa on loan
Gabby Agbonlahor has sent a touching Instagram message to Conor Hourihane with the Villa ace set to join Swansea on loan – and the Irish midfielder has seemingly confirmed the move to the Welsh side with his response.
Hourihane, 29, has largely been a back-up player for Aston Villa since the Midlands outfit gained promotion to the Premier League. The ex-Barnsley captain has been overtaken by John McGinn, Douglas Luiz and more.
This season, he has managed just four Premier League appearances for Dean Smith’s side following the addition of Ross Barkley. Villa are also reportedly closing in on the signing of Marseille midfielder Morgan Sanson.
on Tuesday that Hourihane was set to join Championship side Swansea until the end of the season on loan – and Villa icon Agbonlahor has reacted on Instagram, even though a move is yet to be confirmed.
The £30k-a-week midfielder has clocked up 150 appearances for Villa in all competitions – but has now entered the final 18 months of his Villa contract and his long-term future is certainly up in the air.
As aforementioned, a move has not been made official by either side yet – but Hourihane pretty much confirmed the deal by thanking Agbonlahor for his heartfelt message on Instagram.
