Gabby Agbonlahor names the only reason Aston Villa should sell Ollie Watkins to Manchester United
Manchester United have shown interest in Aston Villa striker Ollie Watkins, but they should only sell the Englishman for one reason.
TBR Football has previously shared that Manchester United have had talks with Ollie Watkins this summer.
Watkins is seen as ‘perfect’ for Man Utd by former centre-back Rio Ferdinand.
But losing the forward would be a big blow for Aston Villa in the eyes of former player, Gabby Agbonlahor.

Only reason Aston Villa should sell Ollie Watkins to Manchester United
Red Devils manager Ruben Amorim loves Watkins, and is understood to see him as a ‘better solution’ to the club’s striker problems.
The 29-year-old scored 17 goals and assisted 14 in 54 matches across all competitions for Villa last term.
Now, speaking alongside Jeff Stelling on talkSPORT, Agbonlahor has bemoaned the prospect of Watkins departing due to him being their ‘only striker’ and the lack of quality replacements available.
He went on to suggest the centre-forward should only be sold to Manchester United for what he described as a ‘ridiculous’ fee.
The ex-striker stated: “I think it all depends on the amount you’d get, Jeff, because there’s no point selling Watkins for £40million. What are you going to do with that? How much is it going to cost you to replace him? He is our only striker.
“So you’ve got to look at it, if you sell him, who are you going to go and get? What money [have] you got available to go and get a top striker? Who’s out there?
“You want to win the Europa League next season, that’s something that Villa are probably one of the favourites to go and do. Unai Emery, as a manager, has won it numerous times
“So you can’t sell your top, top striker at the football club, one of your best players, to Manchester United unless the fee you’re getting is ridiculous.”
Manchester United could do Aston Villa a favour
TBR Football have recently shared that Manchester United are trying to sign Benjamin Sesko.
Newcastle United have submitted an offer to Sesko as well as they eye a replacement for Alexander Isak.
But should the Manchester outfit emerge victorious in the race for the Bundesliga star, their striker search could well be over, especially with Matheus Cunha and Bryan Mbeumo already added to their ranks.
This could end any interest in Watkins, and potentially mean he remains at Aston Villa for 2025/26.
