Gabby Agbonlahor makes England claim about Aston Villa captain Jack Grealish

Despite the fact that Jack Grealish is yet to make his senior England debut, Gabby Agbonlahor has claimed on that he should be a nailed-on starter in the international side.

The 24-year-old has received his first ever call-up to the Three Lions squad during this current international break, which includes Nations League fixtures against Iceland and Denmark.

Villa fans have been rallying behind the cause that Grealish should be in the England squad for over a year now and he’s finally got the opportunity to try a big impression on manager Gareth Southgate.

The attacking midfielder was instrumental in keeping his side in the Premier League last season in their fight against relegation and is the one individual in their squad who stands out on a weekly basis.

He’s shown he can be an attacking threat in either a central midfield role or out wide on the left and he’s got the running power to dribble past defenders with ease at times, even in the competitive Premier League.

Ex-Villa forward Agbonlahor strongly believes that Grealish should already be in the England XI in the creative role.

TBR’s View:

Grealish has let his footballing ability do the talking for him on the pitch in the last year and there aren’t many who could argue he doesn’t deserve his England call-up, so it will be interesting to see if he is given his first cap in the next two fixtures.

He impressed with 10 goals and eight assists last season across all competitions for Villa, but perhaps he can take his game to an even higher level by playing alongside better individuals.

The creator copes well with so much pressure on his shoulders at club level, but he could be an even bigger threat if the shackles are loosened and he’s given more of an attacking licence.
