Gabby Agbonlahor identifies Aston Villa player that will dramatically improve under Rangers boss Steven Gerrard
that bringing in Rangers boss Steven Gerrard as manager will get the best out of new Villa signing Leon Bailey.
The 41-year-old is now being reported as likely to join Villa, as early as this week. The Rangers gaffer has starred in his role north of the border.
Taking control in 2018, he built Rangers to the point where they won the Scottish Premiership title last season – stopping Celtic’s 10-in-a-row pursuit.
Rangers currently sit top of the Premiership table again. But with Villa pursuing Gerrard after sacking Dean Smith,
The report states that Gerrard has even been spotted in London on Wednesday ahead of potentially joining. James Tavernier has spoken out.
Speaking about the potential of Gerrard at Villa, Agbonlahor believes that the appointment of the Liverpool legend will get the best out of Bailey.

“Rangers look organised. You see Gerrard’s passion,” Agbonlahor said. “When he steps in the building, he’s got their respect already.
“The players will be starstruck. You look at Leon Bailey not tracking back against Southampton, he’ll be doing that straight away.”
Bailey needs Rangers boss Gerrard at Villa, to get him firing
His start to life at Villa, since his £25million from Bayer Leverkusen, has been poor. Glimpses of magic, but on the whole, not enough.
Bailey has nowhere near lived up to the hype. Missing five of Villa’s eleven Premier League games, he has scored once – and created two more.
He needs motivation, a manager to sit him down and get the best out of him. Gerrard has shown he can do it, with Alfredo Morelos at Rangers.
Having a manager like Gerrard in place will get a touch out of everyone – but most-importantly, those that are out of form. Bailey, being one.
