‘Furthest down the line’… Tottenham are closest to signing ‘electric’ player in January now

Tottenham Hotspur are the ‘furthest down the line’ in a deal to sign Club Brugge starlet Antonio Nusa.

That’s according to journalist Dean Jones, who has shared an update on Tottenham’s move for Antonio Nusa.

Spurs have already snapped up two signings for the present in January after bringing in Timo Werner and Radu Dragusin.

But Ange Postecoglou is also keeping one eye on next season as Spurs look to wrap up a deal for Nusa.

Fabrizio Romano has already claimed that Tottenham are looking to complete a deal to sign the 18-year-old ‘as soon as possible’.

The Norwegian winger would join Spurs in the summer after spending the rest of the campaign on loan at Club Brugge.

And as talks between Spurs and the Jupiler Pro League outfit continue, Jones claims Nusa is the closest player to moving to north London at the moment.

Tottenham closest to Nusa signing

Speaking on the , Jones claimed that talks between Spurs and Brugge are ongoing.

“Talks are still happening with Nusa,” the journalist said. “He’s an 18-year-old, exciting wide player. Incredible on the ball, it’s ridiculous what he’s capable of.

“The more I’ve looked into it, the more I can see how he would fit with what Tottenham are trying to do now in terms of building and recruiting for the future.”

He added: “They’re trying to tie this up. It was initially supposed to be a deal they would really go for in the summer.

“There’s a couple like this at the moment, to be honest. There’s Wharton at Blackburn as well, who they’re looking into.

“But Nusa is furthest down the line of actually being brought forward in this window. He won’t actually join until the summer to be fair but I feel like this is just giving us a real sign of what’s to come.”

Nusa has emerged as one of Europe’s most exciting prospects after an impressive spell at Club Brugge.

The youngster has registered seven goal involvements this season and has been described as a player with ‘’.

The Norway international is exactly the type of profile Postecoglou is missing at the moment as a winger who can beat his man with ease.

Spurs are lacking a 1v1 specialist on the left-hand side and Nusa ticks plenty of boxes for the north London club.

At just 18, he looks set for a bright future and if Spurs manage to get this deal over the line, they could have a real star in the making.
