FSG are likely to interview manager with £9m release clause about replacing Jurgen Klopp
Fenway Sports Group (FSG) are likely to interview Ruben Amorim about replacing Jurgen Klopp at Liverpool.
That is according to The Times.
So, what is the latest on Liverpool and Ruben Amorim? Let’s take a look…
Liverpool likely to interview Ruben Amorim
Well, much of the focus has been on Xabi Alonso ever since Klopp announced his impending departure in January.
The Spaniard – who has Bayer Leverkusen sat eight points clear at the top of the Bundesliga – is apparently keen to replace the German at Anfield.
Now, however – according to – Amorim is likely to be spoken to by FSG, despite Alonso currently being the frontrunner.
The 39-year-old has built a strong reputation for himself in management at Sporting CP.

Amorim guided the Portuguese giants to their first Primeira Liga title since 2002 back in 2021 – he has impressively won of his 213 games as a manager.
The man from Lisboa is also one of the youngest managers in a top European league, making his achievements all the more impressive.
Ruben Amorim has a fixed price tag for Liverpool
While it remains to be seen how much Bayer Leverkusen would demand for Alonso, Amorim actually has a release clause written into his contract at Sporting CP.
Liverpool could buy the Portuguese tactician out of his contract for €10m (£9m) – according to David Ornstein of The Athletic.

The respected journalist : “Ruben Amorim’s got a release clause in his contract. It was, I think a year ago when Chelsea spoke to him, up into the €20m (£17m) mark.
“Now I understand it’s €10m (£9m), which people might feel is low, especially if it was a player signing, but that is high for a managerial appointment, whether we like it or not.”
That may seem like a lot to spend on a manager, although it could well be much cheaper than what Bayer Leverkusen demand for Alonso.
Be sure to keep an eye on this situation, as FSG consider inviting Amorim for an interview.
