‘From my understanding’: Three Arsenal players will miss today’s game against Juventus now – journalist

Bukayo Saka, Aaron Ramsdale and Gabriel Martinelli will not play for Arsenal in their friendly with Juventus today.

The trio were knocked out of the World Cup at the quarter-final stage last weekend and did not go with the Gunners squad to Dubai.

Saka was outstanding as England were knocked out by France, while Ramsdale went to the tournament but did not play a minute.

Martinelli got just the one start in Qatar and did not get on the pitch at all as Brazil were eliminated on penalties by Croatia.

Saka, Ramsdale and Martinelli set to miss Juventus friendly

Journalist Charles Watts said on : “From my understanding, it doesn’t look like we’re going to see Bukayo Saka, Aaron Ramsdale or Gabriel Martinelli for this one.

“The plan is to integrate them back into the squad over the next few days.”

You might have expected that Ramsdale could play here, having not played at the World Cup and perhaps needing a match for sharpness.

But elsewhere in the video, Watts said that another World Cup goalkeeper, Matt Turner, is expected to start against Juventus.

That will get him some gametime after he played for the United States on their route to the last 16, where the Netherlands knocked them out.

You would expect all three players to play when the Gunners take on the Hammers on Boxing Day looking to maintain their five point lead at the top of the Premier League.
