‘Frightening’ Premier League right-back plays for U21s amid Newcastle transfer links
Newcastle United have been linked with a new right-back in recent weeks.
With Emil Krafth out long-term, the Magpies only have Kieran Trippier and Javier Manquillo available.
Leeds United talent Cody Drameh is one of the player Newcastle are reportedly monitoring.

recently told the podcast – via – that the Magpies are still interested in the Elland Road ace.
Dean Jones also feels Drameh leaving Leeds and linking up with Newcastle is a possibility.
When asked about the possibility of the Magpies signing Drameh in January, Jones told GiveMeSport: “They do like him, so it’s plausible that it opens up.
“I wouldn’t say it’s the absolute priority, but we’ll see.”
Drameh has been struggling for game time at Leeds, hence the emergence of links with the likes of Newcastle.
He spent the second half of last season on loan at Cardiff, but decided to fight for his place at Elland Road this term.
However, the ‘‘frightening‘ 21-year-old hasn’t managed to oust Rasmus Kristensen or Luke Ayling in the pecking order.
‘We’ll have to address what we need from him’
Now, with the FA Cup third round coming up, this could be a good chance for Drameh to try and stake a claim.
At the same time, the reported St James’ Park target ended up playing for Leeds’ Under-21s on Friday night.
Admittedly, this was on the cards. Whites boss Jesse Marsch did say that Drameh would play “some minutes” against Nottingham Forest’s U21s.
However, the Leeds manager didn’t specify whether Drameh would start at Cardiff on Sunday.
quotes Marsch as saying on Friday afternoon: “So Cody will play some minutes tonight in Nottingham.
“Then we’ll have to address what we need from him, but he’ll be in the squad for sure.

“We’ll see exactly how we decide to use him.
“So, you know, I know it’s sort of contradictory what I’ve been saying.
“I’m really happy with Cody but then haven’t included him in the squad, but I’m really happy with Cody, really happy and we’ve got to figure out exactly how to challenge him moving forward as well.”
It remains to be seen whether Drameh is happy to stick around while Marsch tries to figure out how to play him.
The alternative would be for him to push for a move. That said, he’s unlikely to be first-choice at Newcastle either.
