Frenkie De Jong and Matthijs De Ligt show Tottenham why they’re worth combined £115m

The Netherlands completed a dream result against their big rivals Germany last night in UEFA Nations League action. The Dutch won 3-0 thanks to goals from Virgil van Dijk, Memphis Depay and Gini Wijnaldum.

There was some excellent young talent on show during the game as well, with Ajax’s talented pair Frenkie de Jong and Matthijs de Ligt both in action.

Both put in solid displays against tough opposition which will no doubt have fans of Tottenham Hotspur wishing for the best.

Spurs have long been linked with both players, with the club’s history of doing business with Ajax hopefully a beneficiary factor.

Such impressive displays from the pair will certainly have Tottenham fans hoping for an impressive double swoop.

There is, of course, major competition. Barcelona, are ready to launch a £115 million double swoop on the pair and

that Manchester City are readying a £70.4 million bid for the player in January, which would see them loan the talented midfielder back to Ajax until the summer.

Tottenham fans will no doubt wish for at least one of these talents to arrive, with the likes of Toby Alderweireld, Jan Vertonghen and Mousa Dembele potentially needing replacing in the coming years.

But judging by the financial clout on offer from other teams, it will be a tough ask for Daniel Levy and co to get a deal over the line for either Dutch star.
