If this report is accurate then it really is a damning indictment of the summer transfer business conducted by Celtic and Brendan Rodgers.
The Celtic manager was at pains to state at the recent AGM that he had the final say on Celtic’s recruitment this summer and if reports are to be believed that four of those new recruits could be loaned out in January, the Celtic fans will be wondering just what is going on at their club.
The report from states, “Summer signings Gustaf Lagerbielke, Maik Nawrocki, [Hyeokkyu] Kwon and Marco Tilio are all out of the picture, with temporary moves elsewhere a possibility.”
Four players with less than ten, yes TEN, appearances between them are all set to be sent away in the middle of the season.
All players bought with the intention of pushing ahead in Europe and winning the Scottish Premiership.
Celtic’s waste of £9.8m in the transfer market
‘Out of the picture’. That really is a sorry state of affairs that Celtic have apparently written off £9.8m worth of players that they deemed good enough to sign in the summer but not good enough to play in December.

This leads to questions surrounding the whole recruitment policy and team. Who scouted the players? Who agreed on the fees? And why on earth did Rodgers sign them off if less than five months down the line they are deemed not good enough to wear the jersey?
If Celtic thought the criticism around the loss to Kilmarnock was bad, if these players are allowed to leave, and bear in mind Kwon hasn’t played a single minute of first-team football, the Celtic supporters will be livid that the club has squandered a vast amount of money on players this summer as Rodgers screams for quality signings.
This really will be an interesting January, folks.
