Former Tottenham boss has now been offered to Barcelona ahead of Xavi’s exit

Barcelona may prove to be the first job Antonio Conte takes following his departure from Tottenham Hotspur, with the Italian offered to the Catalan giants.

It is almost remarkable to think that it is less than 11 months since Antonio Conte left Spurs after a turbulent spell in North London.

Tottenham have been transformed in the months since. Ange Postecoglou has worked wonders to take Spurs back into top-four contention in the Premier League. And there is plenty of excitement for what is to come.

Shortly after the news was announced last month that Jurgen Klopp would be leaving Liverpool in the summer, Xavi confirmed that he will be moving on from Barcelona at the end of the season.

And according to , one of the managers who has been offered to Barca is Conte. Conte would be open to taking the job, though he is not believed to be one of the leading candidates for the job at this stage.

Former Tottenham boss doesn’t seem the right fit for Barca

Conte’s spell at Tottenham seemed to do nothing positive for his reputation. He went into Spurs as a proven winner. But he was unable to do that with the club – and that is despite largely working with the same squad who are playing brilliantly under Postecoglou now.

He will have his sights set on a top job upon his return to the dug-out. But given where Barcelona are right now, and the fact that Xavi is ready to walk away after little more than two years in the role, you would imagine that Conte would not be the right fit at all for what Barca need.
