Former Liverpool defender Warnock praises Salah’s contribution despite barren run

Mo Salah is on his longest run without a goal for Liverpool but former Reds defender Stephen Warnock has backꦛed him to come good and highlighted his contribution to the side as a whole.

W𝓀arnock gave his view on Salah’s eight-game goalless run, which has coincided with Liverpool’s run towards the business end of the season.

He : “Everyone is talking about it and we expect him ꦡto score for Liverpool. But off the ball he is creating chances for the likes of Firmino and Mane to score, by dragging more players on to him.

“The midfield have dried up a bit behind him but he will 🌞come good, he keeps on getting in the right a💛reas. Tonight’s game is massive.”

There is an element of truth in what Warnock is saying; Salah has become a ma🀅rked man this season but as long🦋 as that’s creating space for Sadio Mane and Roberto Firmino to get the goals, there’s no immediate need for Jurgen Klopp to panic.

But he would surely like his top man to get back on the goal trail, with the Champions League kicking bꦅack into l♍ife in the coming week, and it would ease the burden on Mane, who has been carrying his side’s title hopes for a little while now.
