Former Leicester manager Ian Holloway comments on Brendan Rodgers’ reign

Former Leicester City manager Ian Holloway has been full of praise for current boss Brendan Rodgers after he oversaw Friday’s record-breaking 9-0 away win over Southampton.

On , Holloway praised the way Rodgers has transformed Jamie Vardy since arriving at the King Power Stadium and feels he definitely made the right call coming down from Celtic.

He : “To leave Celtic, he obviously felt he was getting the right club. What he’s doing for Vardy… rejuvenating him. They’ve chosen a proper, proper manager. He’s learnt from Liverpool when he finished second, faced every single challenge with Celtic and what a great time for him to go into Leicester.

“I don’t think there’s any doubt (about Leicester finishing in the top four). I don’t think the others are anything like good enough. Man United are going to struggle to catch them and the manager knows what he’s doing.”

TBR’s View – Top four is Leicester’s to lose now

Leicester have form at taking advantage when the traditional bigger sides are in transition and while the title should be off the cards this season, top four is a real possibility.

They have to make the most of Tottenham, Manchester United and Arsenal struggling and put as many points as they can between them before the intense festive period comes and perhaps those sides strengthen in January.

The Foxes also need to improve their record against the big clubs, because coming out on the wrong side of those tussles all season long will hit their Champions League hopes hard.
