Former Juventus boss Allegri reported as potential manager target for Tottenham
Former Juventus manager Massimiliano Allegri is reportedly one of the many names on Tottenham’s shortlist as they continue their search for Jose Mourinho’s successor.
, the Italian football coach is someone that Spurs are said to ‘like’, and that his record of winning ‘trophies aplenty’ make him an appealing candidate for the job. However, there are concerns that Allegri’s profile might not suit the club, and that his limited English could be a problem if an approach was made.

Allegri has been out of football since 2019 after leaving Juventus after five years with the Old Lady. During that time, the former AC Milan manager won the Serie A title in every season with the Turin-based club as well as reached two UEFA Champions League finals, both of which Juventus came out the losers against Barcelona in 2015 and then to Real Madrid in 2017.
Tottenham’s search for a new manager took a hit hours after their League Cup final defeat to Manchester United when it was that Julian Nagelsmann, who had been considered by the club as their top managerial target, had opened talks with Bayern Munich, with that an agreement had been reached between the two parties.

TBR View: Allegri could be a risk worth taking for Spurs
The appointment of Mourinho was always going to be a risky one when the news was announced in late 2019, and 18 months down the line, those fears appeared to be true as the Portuguese manager took the club in a sideways direction more than forwards like some had expected the former Chelsea boss to do.
Yet Allegri is a different manager entirely. Cristiano Ronaldo, who played under Allegri for a season at Juventus, called the Italian coach ‘great’ as following the 53-year-old’s departure from the club, and although he hasn’t been in management for nearly two years, his most recent track record is certainly impressive.

Silverware in every season with Juventus will be an appealing achievement for Tottenham, who have not won a thing since the 2008 League Cup, and Allegri could be the man to put the club back on the right track if he was granted the opportunity to return to football with Spurs as his next project.
